Rising Prices

Prices for consumer goods are really getting quite atrocious. I thought the price of petrol was bad enough. When I first got my car close to 2 years back, a full tank (abt 45l) would have cost 77 bucks after discount and it can last me say 420km max before i need to top up the tank. Now, it's 92 bucks after discount -an increase of 15 bucks (can buy me 1 Swensons sundae, taxes included). Multiply it by 6 and thats 90 bucks a month- more if i am heavy footed with the accelerator. Btw, i have not 'opened' my Vtec for a while lor. Can't even remember how it sounds now. Bleh.

Speaking of sundaes, the other day me and the BF ordered a sundae at one of Swenson's competitors. Eagled- eyed me noticed that they had a revamped ice cream menu, with new pics and new prices (more expensive of course). I ordered my usual favorite- waffles with 2 scoops of ice cream.

The bill came up to almost 23 bucks just for the sundae. An increase of 3 bucks maybe. Well, the cost of sugar may have increased, but just how much sugar goes into 2 scoops of ice cream to warrant a price increase of 3 bucks? Consumers are not dumb ok.

Price aside, there was only 1 waffle instead of the usual 2 scrumptious waffles (nice and crispy outside yet fluffy inside). AND, the waffle was tough and barely warm. Kaoz.

I am definitely not a penny -pincher when it comes to food but this is just a wee bit too much. I would expect the quality or even portion to remain the same when the price is increased. 23 bucks for 2 scoops of ice cream and a piece of cardboard-like waffle smaller than the size of my palm - sprinkled with gold flakes izzit??

Luckily there's still Swensons, Island Creamery etcetc. And I know how to make my own ice cream too *pat myself on the back* Hee.
