I have long wanted to have a post on HSBC HK (after all the pain they made me go through last year when I first moved to HK) so here it is below. As per the norm, they did not 'let me down' when I called them earlier. After waiting for 35 min on the line :
Me: Hi, I have a credit of hkd 25,000 in my credit card account. Can u transfer it to my savings account?
Dodo bird : You want to do a balance transfer?
Me: No. I have a credit of hkd 25,000. Credit.
Dodo bird : You want to make payment?
Me: Noooooooooo. I have a credit, a C R E D I T.
Dodo bird: Oh..
Next..
Me : I have a late charge for my credit card, can u waive it off?
Dodo bird : Mr Cheung, the bank will automatically deduct a late charge, when you make payment later. (Said in this exact manner and grammar as i heard it :p )
Me : I know. It has already happened (obviously). Can u waive it off??
Dodo bird: ok.
Me : How do I apply for auto payment for electricity bills?
Dodo bird : You can use internet banking to apply for electronic statements.
Me : Noooooo, electricity. Electricity.
Dodo bird : (repeats after me) electricity... Electricity... Electronic... Yes, you can apply for E statements.
Me: (sighs audibly) Electricity. E L E C T R I C I T Y. Electricity.
Dodo bird : After an Eureka moment... Oh, you have to go to the merchant.
Just in case anyone is curious, yours truly is a 'Miss', and my surname is 'Teo', not 'Cheung', nor 'Diu'. 😁😅😭
