One thing that is apparent in my own relationships as well as what I have seen in others' - an issue that bothers one or both parties hardly, or if ever goes away. Why? I don't know honestly.
An untidy person will continue to be untidy.
A partner who is not affectionate will continue to be so.
An ill tempered person will continue his ways.
The wife who can never remember how her hubby likes his egg sandwiches will continue to make them the wrong way.
A person who is boh chup will continue to be boh chup. Hey, it may even become worse over the years!
I don't think I'm a pessimistic person but the examples above are real examples of what I have seen.
Hanging on usually leads to both parties being unhappy and comes to naught. I can only hope that this painful episode for my friend is a quick one. My thoughts are with you, my friend.
