One more day to chinese new year. Gez, Jan just flashed past like that. It was a whirl of painful mornings (waking up at 7.30am), even more painful drive into the KPE( driving at a boring 70kph underneath hypnotic white lights), terrible Raffles place lunch crowds etc. The most crappy has to be the daily 5 bucks erp going to work. Nice. And there's erp when I head home too. I suspect it's all a conspiracy... :P
Been sick for the last 2 weeks and am having a persistent cough. Thank goodness CNY falls on mon and tue, so it will be a good time to catch up on my sleep debt and to recover. I shall watch my dark eye rings disappear magically.. Hee.
I find CNY this year rather strange. Unlike last year, I don't see large crowds thronging chinatown and orchard road. Economic crisis at work? Probably.
Anyway, there's no new clothes for me this year. Again. It has been like that every year since he passed away. I guess this is my way of mourning him. There used to be so much fanfare and preparation during the days leading to CNY. Cleaning of the house, buying new clothes (a must and it had better not be black), preparing and slicing copious amounts of food for the traditional charcoal steamboat etc.
CNY is never the same without him around, I guess.
